There were speculations if the new Bachchan bahu will continue acting after her marriage. And it seems that the actress will go ahead with her career with same enthusiasm as before. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has signed the sequel to the Hollywood hit movie, The Pink Panther. The actress will be playing the role of a detective in the sequel starring Steve Martin in the lead role.
The sequel to the 2006 hit movie, The Pink Panther, will have Steve Martin returning in his role of Inspector Clouseau. The others joining the cast include Andy Garcia, John Cleese and Alfred Molina. Jean Reno and Emily Mortimer are returning in the sequel in their old roles of Gendarme Gilbert and Nicole respectively.
The sequel, titled The Pink Pather 2, slated for release on Feb, 13, 2009, will be directed by Harald Zwart and produced by Robert Simonds. Cleese will play the role of Inspector Dreyfus. Garcia, Molina and Aish will be playing the detectives and experts who join forces with Clouseau to catch the thief who has been stealing artifacts around the world. The script has been penned by Scott Neustadter, Mike Weber, Lowell Ganz, Babaloo Mandel and Steve Martin.
