Mr. and Mrs. Abhishek Bachchan made their first public appearance after marriage at the opening ceremony of Cannes Film Festival. Maniratnam's Guru starring Abhi-Ash will be screened at the festival, which will also screen six other Indian films.
The festival will also showcase Jodha Akbar, the upcoming movie starring Hrithik and Aishwarya in the lead roles. The opening ceremony began with the screening of the Chinese director Wong Kar Wai's in-competition film My Blueberry Nights. The other Indian movies to be screened at the festival include Malayalam film Saira, Tamil film Veyil, Bengali film Dosar, English film Missed Call, art-house Hindi film Dharm and popular Bollywood hits Lage Raho Munnabhai.
