Ayesha Takia, who recently walked out of Aamir Khan’s Ghajini remake, has also walked out of another big film. The actress was supposed to play the female lead role of Princess Jasmine in Sujoy Ghosh’s fantasy film Aladin and the Mystery of the Lamp opposite Riteish Deshmukh, who plays Aladin in the film. However, she is no more a part of that project now. According to sources, things did not work out with Ayesha for the film and hence it led to her exit. The director and producer are on the lookout for a new leading lady.
Ramesh Sippy and Rohan Sippy, who were earlier supposed to produce the film along with Adlabs, also dissociated themselves from the film recently. Sujoy claims that he will now produce the film himself and has all the moral support from Amitabh Bachchan, who plays the role of the Genie in the film. One however does wonder how Ghosh will finance a film that requires a huge budget to support its special effects and the fantasy feel. There were rumours in the industry that Eros Entertainment might just come into the picture though nothing has been confirmed on that front.
The final star cast of the film as of now comprises Amitabh Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Juhi Chawla and Sameera Reddy.
