Eros International, one of India’s biggest production and distribution houses, has tied up with retail giant Wal-Mart to sell DVDs of Bollywood movies throughout Canada.
By this deal, Eros DVDs will be available in Wal-Mart stores across Canada. Initially, they will be available in 27 Wal-Mart stores and will be subsequently extended throughout Canada.
Eros currently has over 1300 Bollywood titles in its catalogues and is planning to add 30-40 new Bollywood releases every year. The move is significant as it will help Bollywood films reach out to Indians and other film-lovers across Canada.
Ken Naz, President, Eros International (USA), expressed his happiness on the tie up. “We are very excited to be working with Wal-Mart in Canada as it will enable widespread availability of quality DVDs at affordable prices to consumers.”
