The above lyrics dripping with unbridled romance helped its writer Prasoon Joshi win his first Filmfare Award for best Lyrics at the recently concluded 52nd Filmfare Awards. He had also been nominated for the thought-provoking anthem from Rang De Basanti, Rubaroo."Getting nominated along with Javed Sahab and Gulzar Sahab is an honour in itself," said Prasoon.
One of the top-notch advertising gurus in the country, Joshi has won a plethora of awards in the field of advertising all over the world. He is also widely known for the Thanda Matlab Coca Cola Campaign. His stint in lyrics writing started with pop band Silk Route, followed by surreal Shubha Mudgal's private albums and he finally made a mark in films with Kunal Kohli's Hum Tum .
You did two films last year (Rang De Basanti and Fanaa) and got nominated for both. What are you doing next? "I am doing Aamir's Taare Zameen Par and the remake of Ghajini ," says Prasoon. "Shankar Ehsan Loy is giving music for Taare Zameen Par while A R Rahman is giving music for the Ghajini remake," he adds. Have the songs been recorded for Ghajini Remake?"No, not as yet." And finally, are you directing a film starring Aamir?"No" Joshi signs off leaving behind a trail of fragrant words.
