Samir Karnik certainly has a reason to smile. Nanhe Jaisalmer has been chosen as one of the nominees for National awards this year. In addition to that, his upcoming films Heroes and Roshan are selected for different categories in the Cannes Film Festival to be held in France in May.
Excited about the new happenings in his career, Samir Karnik claimed that despite the fact that the first copies of both his films (Heroes and Roshan) were not out, he managed to send working copies, which have been accepted by the fraternity of Cannes. Although his films would not be showcased, just the thought of sending films for a competition category gives him a new high.
Samir is all praises for the cinematographer Binod Pradhan. He claims that Pradhan's work in both films is simply outstanding. He went on to add that it s really difficult to win at Cannes but they are hoping for the best.
Now if that's not a reason to celebrate, then what is?
