Akshaye Khanna is getting his due at long last. Race’s success and appreciation for Akshaye’s work has given his career a boost. While shooting for Shortkut in Bangkok, he spoke to the media to comment on Race’s runaway success, “We were certain that it would be successful, but the proportions caught us by surprise.”
He is eager to work with Akshay Kumar, after having worked with some of the biggest names in the business. “Imagine the two of us on the screen together,” he enthuses. “I believe only two people can achieve what I dream- Abbas-Mustan and Priyadarshan. Though the idea has been tossed around, they’ve not got a suitable script so far.”
Mere Baap Pehle Aap, his upcoming movie reunites Akshaye with Priyadarshan after a few years. “It's a superb film. I'd like to think that it's Priyan's best film so far,” he confides. The wait will be worth it, to see two names, who are synonymous with quality entertainment, work together.
