Anurag Kashyap, who is all set to direct his tentatively-titled Dev D, has finally zeroed down on the actors to play the roles of Chandramukhi and Paro. These roles are being played by two newcomers, Kalki and Mahi, respectively. This film, a modern-day take on Sarat Chandra's novel, 'Devdas', is being produced by UTV Spotboy, written and directed by Anurag himself.
Dev D is very much unlike the original; here, the main lead Abhay Deol is a hypocrite who drowns himself in self-pity, a man who cannot stand up for himself. The film, scheduled to go on floors next week, will be shot in London, Punjab and Delhi. Anurag is said to be leaving for London in three days; the rest of the crew is supposed to join him later. It's going to be a start-finish affair, as the film is expected to be completed by April.
