Anubhav Sinha’s Cash is getting more impressive by the day. Now the Dus director has shot a four-minute song in one take. One might recall Shakti Samanta’s film Aradhana in which the song 'Roop Tera Mastana' was shot in one take.
"I don't know how how Shaktida did it thirtyeight years ago. The poor cameraman must have been scampering all over the place trying to capture Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore. But what a song!" says Anubhav Sinha.
After decades, another single-shot song (meaning the shots aren't divided and the entire sequence is shot in one camera movement) has been done for Anubhav Sinha's Cash, and this time there were five actors… Riteish Deshmukh, Zayed Khan, Esha Deol, Shamita Shetty and Dia Mirza sharing screen space.
Says Anubhav, "Initially, I wanted to drop this song entitled 'Naughty naughty' from the film. It just didn't fit in. Then I decided to do something different with it. It was really tough getting all the characters and their movements down in one shot. We would zoom in one couple and then follow another couple down the corridor… and so on and so forth. It was quite a challenge to do a single-shot song with so many actors. But finally, it was fun."
Incidentally, director Wilson Louis has also canned a three and a half minute song in one shot for his forthcoming film Ghat: The hill station.
