Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Chak De India had been adjudged the best film at the The Nokia 14th Star Screen awards. The awards were announced amidst much glamour at a star-studded ceremony at Bandra-Kurla complex in Mumbai. Bollywood badshah, Shah Rukh Khan, walked away with the best actor award.
Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par took away six awards including the best director award(Aamir Khan), best child (Darsheel), best story (Amol Gupte) and best lyricist (Prasoon Joshi). Aamir Khan was presented with the best supporting award. Kareena Kapoor was presented with the best actress award for her performance in her film, Jab We Met.
Deepika Padukone won the best newcomer (female) award while Ranbir Kapoor won the best newcomer (male) award. Manoj Kumar was given the Star Screen Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the film industry. The Nokia Star Screen Awards will be shown on Star Plus on January 28 from 7.30 p.m. onwards.
