After Shootout At Lokhandwala, Ekta Kapoor seems to have taken interest in making films based on real life stories. Her next film will be based on the life of THE milk producer of India, namely ‘milkman’ Verghese Kurien. Before Ekta Kapoor, veteran filmmaker Shyam Benegal has also made a film on Verghese and a cooperative run by women called Manthan.
Ekta’s film will be based on his memoirs ‘I Too Had a Dream’ by Gauri Salvi. Kurien introduced co-operative dairy farming in Gujarat and the rest of India and is known as the Father of the White Revolution of India. Ekta however, wants to make a commercial bio-pic.
Actor Girish Karnad played the role of Kurien in Shyam Benegal’s Manthan. However; Ekta plans to sign a big star to play the role of Kurien. The film will be directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.
