Last week, Onir’s P.R. department dashed off mails to important media persons stating that Karishma Kapoor will make a comeback with Onir’s next project You & I. A few days later, the actress denied that she has signed the film in question. So, what’s the truth? “I think there’s some confusion on that front,” Onir tells me, “The truth is, I did meet Karishma recently. She read the script, liked it immensely, but the formalities are still pending.
She hasn’t signed on the dotted line officially, but has agreed in principle to do the film.” Onir adds that he isn’t sure whether it’s her comeback film. “I really can’t say if it’s her comeback film since I don’t even know if she’s in talks with other producers. In fact, I also met her business manager [Zahid] this morning to apprise him of the situation. I want to confirm everything before I make the official announcement,” Onir states. Meanwhile, Zahid tells that Karishma’s talks with Onir are in the preliminary stages. “Agreed, she did like the subject.
But the remaining things like remuneration, dates, locations and time span for completing the project are still to be discussed,” he says, adding that Karishma hasn’t signed any film yet. “Not even a Yash Chopra film, like the rumours insist,” he adds.
