Rani Mukherjee has replaced Aishwarya Rai in Sanjay Leela Bansali’s next film Saanvariya. It is reported that Ash declined the film as Bansali wanted to have Salman Khan in the male lead. So Sanjay signed Rani Mukherjee for the female lead. Saanvariya also marks the debut of two star kids - Ranvir Kapoor, son of Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, and Sonam, daughter of Anil and Sunita Kapoor.
Earlier also, Rani replaced Ash in Chalte Chalte after Shahrukh Khan and Aziz Mirza decided to drop Ash after the hassles created by Salman on the sets. Again, Ash was Bansali’s choice for Black but she could not oblige due to date problems; Rani was chosen for the role of a lifetime; Black has also been chosen as one of the top ten best films by Time Magazine.
