It seems ostentatious birthdays celebrations are out. This year, Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Urmila Matondkar and Aamir Khan are some of the stars who chose to spend a quiet birthday with family and friends.
Last week, Rani Mukherjee had some of her close friends like Sanjay Bhansali and Karan Johar over for a quiet dinner at home to bring in her 29th birthday on 21st March. They dropped in unannounced to wish the popular actress. Rani also visited the students of The Helen Keller Institute for the Blind and Deaf at Mumbai. She had earlier made freinds with them while preparing for her role of a blind blind and deaf girl in the highly acclaimed Black. For all the well-deserved awards and plaudits Rani garnered for the best actress for her role in Black, she says she would never have been able to deliver such an exceptional performance, but for the lessons she learnt from these children.
Rani Mukherjee, we at galatta.com wish you a very Happy Belated Birthday; we wish there are many more golden-hearted persons like you.
On Friday another leading lady turned a year older. Of late, Kangana Ranaut has been too much in the news.or so she feels.
"I've been written about for all the wrong reasons. Like the so-called three-movie deal with Yashraj Films. I never said anything about that to anyone. I don't know who's cooking up these stories which make me look compromised. So this birthday I really lay low. I called over my best friend Jaspreet from London and my sister Rangoli who was in Himachal Pradesh. They gave me my gifts. In the morning, I visited the Siddhivinayak temple and gave food to the poor. That's what my mother wanted me to do."
Everyone's talking about Kangana's kiss with Upen Patel in Shaka Laka Boom Boom. "It's not a kiss, just a peck on the lip. Suneel Darshanji felt it was required since my character has to make Bobby Deol's character jealous in the scene. Otherwise I don't want to kiss Upen or anybody on screen," protests Kangana.
