Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, dimpled hero of Parineeta and Salaam Namaste, son of Sharmila Tagore and the Nawab of Pataudi is to marry his Italian girlfriend, but has not yet fixed a date. Saif separated last year from his wife, Amrita Singh, after 14-years of marriage, and is now dating Rosa, an Italian citizen. Khan, who has previously declined to talk about his relationship publicly, told that similarities between Indian and Italian culture drew the couple together.
"Women from southern Italy and India are closer than you would imagine in terms of family," he was quoted as saying. About his marital differences with Singh, with whom he has a daughter and son, Khan said the two were separated but cordial. "She is one of the most important people I know and I hope to have a long-standing fruitful relationship with her," he reportedly said.
