Om Shanti Om not only created fireworks, but also provoked some anger from veteran actor Manoj Kumar. However, Shah Rukh Khan tendered his apologies to Manoj Kumar for the offending sequence in the film. Shah Rukh Khan commented that he is ready to remove the scene from the film if the actor desired.
Manoj Kumar had threatened legal action for the spoof and was hurt at the way he had been portrayed in the film. The film also has comic takes on many other actors and filmmakers from 70s, the current generation of Bollywood and even a hilarious spoof on South Indian films.
Interestingly, Manoj Kumar has not yet seen the film. Shah Rukh and Farah together apologized to Manoj and maintained that the spoof was not done to hurt anyone.
