Shahrukh made his acting debut through theatre. He then ventured into televison with the TV series Fauji. He did TV serials which included Dil Dariya, Doosra Kewal and Circus. He also did a few TV films like Ehmak (Idiot). His recent re-entry into televsion as the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati was hugely successful.

Shahrukh Khan captured the cinema audience with his first film Deewana. The passionate lover he played in the film, established him as the darling of the female audience and a youth icon was born.

SRK followed this with films like Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Chamatkar and Dil Aashna Hai. Except for RBGG, none of his films were great box office hits.

Then he did the unthinkable. He did the film Maya Memsaab which had him romancing an older, married woman and the career defining Baazigar, in which he played the anti-hero. This film changed not only his career but redefined the leading man of Hindi cinema.

The films that followed gave box-office success as well as audience appreciation and loads of awards. These included, Darr, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Karan Arjun.

SRK, then joined hands with Yash Raj films.The films made under this banner Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge, Dil To Paagal Hai, Mohabbatein and Veer Zaara, made him 'King Khan'.

With Karan Johar, Shahrukh made films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Na Ho and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.

His other notable films include Yes Boss, Pardes, Badshah, Swades and Devdas.

SRK turned producer with Asoka. He also produced Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Chalte Chalte, Main Hoon Naa, Kaal and Paheli.

He has worked with all the top heroines, but his onscreen chemistry with Juhi Chawla, Kajol, Madhuri and Rani Mukerji have been most successful.

His latest film Chak De India reiterated his positon as 'Badshah of Bollywood' and justified his inclusion at Madame Tussad's Wax Museum.

Shahrukh is married to his school sweet heart Gauri and they have two children, son Aryan and daughter Suhaana.
