Post Khoya Khoya Chand, Sudhir Mishra will reportedly start work on reinterpreting the story of Devdas set in a modern political context. Recently, there were reports that Mishra has signed Lara Dutta and Soha Ali Khan for the roles of Paro and Chandramukhi respectively.
But Mishra clarifies, “I have not signed anyone except Shiny Ahuja, who will play lead role in the film. I am talking to people, but haven’t signed anyone to announce the star cast of my film.”
In fact, Mishra has finalized Soha Ali Khan but for a completely different film called Tere Kya Hoga Johnny? “It represents Mumbai and the plight of street kids,” explains Sudhir. “Tere Kya Hoga Johnny? is about a street kid named Johnny and a girl played by Soha Ali Khan. This film has been co-written by me, Joydeep Sarkar and writer Pankaj Kapur. Tere Kya Hoga Johnny? will be directed and produced by me. We are in the process of finalizing the star cast of this film. Once we are done, we will make an announcement regarding the same”.
So amongst Devdas and Tere Kya Hoga Johnny? which film will he start first? “I will work on one project at a time. Now it depends on the dates of stars. According to that I will decide which film to begin first,” signs off Sudhir.
